By accessing our website, requesting quotations, making enquiries, or booking any travel services through Melifera Tours & Safari, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions govern all services offered by Melifera Tours & Safari, including but not limited to safari packages, accommodation bookings, transfers, guided experiences, day excursions, walking safaris, private tours, photographic safaris, travel planning, and any related travel services.

1. GENERAL
Melifera Tours & Safari acts primarily as an independent travel planner, booking agent and safari specialist.
We arrange services with carefully selected third-party suppliers including:
Lodges
Hotels
National Parks
Private Game Reserves
Airlines
Charter Companies
Transfer Companies
Activity Providers
Conservation Areas
Although every effort is made to ensure quality and reliability, these services are operated by independent businesses over which Melifera Tours & Safari has no direct operational control.
All bookings remain subject to supplier availability.
By confirming a booking, the client accepts these Terms and Conditions in full.

2. PRIVACY POLICY
Melifera Tours & Safari respects your privacy.
We collect personal information solely for the purpose of:
Processing reservations
Issuing travel documentation
Communicating travel information
Complying with legal obligations
Improving customer service
Personal information may include:
Full names
Passport details
Identity numbers where required
Contact details
Emergency contacts
Dietary requirements
Medical information relevant to travel
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Information may only be shared with suppliers directly involved in fulfilling your booking.

8. SUBMISSIONS
Any reviews, testimonials, photographs or other material voluntarily submitted to Melifera Tours & Safari may be used for marketing purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The client confirms that they own the rights to submitted material.

9. COMMUNICATION DISCLAIMER
Emails, WhatsApp messages, quotations and other communications do not constitute confirmed bookings until:
Availability has been confirmed;
Payment has been received where required; and
Written confirmation has been issued by Melifera Tours & Safari.
Telephone discussions are not binding unless confirmed in writing.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Travel involves inherent risks.
Melifera Tours & Safari shall not be liable for:
Injury
Illness
Death
Theft
Delays
Missed connections
Weather
Road conditions
Flight delays
Mechanical breakdowns
Natural disasters
Political unrest
Government restrictions
Pandemics
Acts of God
Wildlife encounters
Supplier insolvency
Our liability shall never exceed the amount paid directly to Melifera Tours & Safari for the specific booking.

11. USER LIABILITY TO MELIFERA TOURS & SAFARI
Clients shall be liable for:
Damage to accommodation
Damage to vehicles
Damage to equipment
Cleaning costs
Legal penalties
Additional supplier charges resulting from their conduct
The client authorises Melifera Tours & Safari to recover such costs where legally permitted.

12. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
All services are provided "as available".
Melifera Tours & Safari makes no warranty regarding:
Website availability
Accuracy of third-party information
Wildlife sightings
Weather conditions
Road conditions
Internet connectivity
Continuous operation of supplier services
Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

13. PRICES
Unless otherwise stated:
All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
Prices are subject to availability.
Prices may change without notice prior to booking confirmation.
Government taxes, park fees and conservation levies may change at any time and may be added to the final invoice.
Obvious pricing errors may be corrected before confirmation.

14. PAYMENT TERMS
All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
Prices are exclusive of 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) unless specifically stated as VAT inclusive.
Standard payment terms:
A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure a booking.
The remaining balance is payable no later than 30 days before arrival, unless otherwise stated.
Bookings made within 30 days of departure require full payment immediately.
Failure to pay by the due date may result in automatic cancellation without notice.
Interest may be charged on overdue accounts where permitted by law.

15. TERMINATION
Melifera Tours & Safari reserves the right to cancel or terminate bookings where:
Payment is not received.
Fraud is suspected.
Clients behave abusively.
Safety is compromised.
Government regulations require cancellation.
Force majeure prevents travel.
Any applicable refunds will be subject to supplier policies.

16. PAYMENT METHODS
We currently accept:
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
Bank Deposit
Credit Cards
Debit Cards
Approved Online Payment Platforms
All bank charges remain for the client's account unless agreed otherwise.

17. AGE AND FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
Walking safaris are physically demanding.
Participants must:
Be at least 12 years of age.
Be medically fit.
Be able to walk for extended periods.
Follow guide instructions at all times.
Melifera Tours & Safari reserves the right to refuse participation where a guide considers a participant's safety to be at risk.
Parents remain fully responsible for minors.

18. LANGUAGE
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the English language.
Any translations are provided for convenience only.
In the event of conflict, the English version shall prevail.

19. INCLUSIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
Unless specifically stated, quotations include only the services listed on the itinerary.
Typical inclusions may include:
Accommodation

Guided activities
Conservation fees where indicated
Transfers where indicated
Typical exclusions include:
International flights
Domestic flights unless specified
Visas
Passport costs
Travel insurance
Personal expenses

20. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Cancellation charges generally apply as follows unless supplier terms require otherwise:
More than 60 days before arrival: Deposit may be forfeited.
59–31 days before arrival: Up to 50% cancellation fee.
30–15 days before arrival: Up to 75% cancellation fee.
14 days or less before arrival: Up to 100% cancellation fee.
No-shows: 100% cancellation fee.
Supplier-specific policies may override these standard terms.

21. TRANSACTION AND SERVICE FEES
Melifera Tours & Safari reserves the right to charge:
Booking fees
Administration fees
Banking fees
Foreign exchange fees
Payment gateway charges
Amendment fees
Special request handling fees
These fees will be disclosed before confirmation where applicable.

22. REFUNDS
Approved refunds shall:
Be processed using the original payment method where possible.
Be subject to supplier refund policies.
Exclude non-recoverable banking charges, administration fees and transaction fees unless required by law.
Refund processing times may vary depending on financial institutions and suppliers.

23. RECORDS OF TRANSACTIONS
Melifera Tours & Safari maintains records of quotations, invoices, payments and bookings for legal, accounting and operational purposes.
Electronic records constitute valid evidence of transactions.
Clients are encouraged to retain copies of all correspondence and payment confirmations.

24. APPLICABLE LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
Should any provision of these Terms be found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travellers and should include cover for:
Medical emergencies
Emergency evacuation
Trip cancellation
Trip interruption
Personal liability
Lost baggage
Delayed travel
Melifera Tours & Safari accepts no responsibility for losses that would have been covered by travel insurance.

FORCE MAJEURE
Melifera Tours & Safari shall not be liable for any delay, cancellation, loss or failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, floods, fires, pandemics, epidemics, strikes, civil unrest, war, terrorism, government restrictions, airline disruptions or other unforeseen circumstances.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing this website, requesting quotations, paying deposits, making bookings or participating in any tour arranged by Melifera Tours & Safari, the client confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
